Our world today is filled with many serious issues. We are living in a time when there has never been more progress, but at the same time, the world is suffering like never before. Natural disasters test many countries, financial crises have made living very expensive, and government policies continue to confuse and puzzle the average citizen.

With so many issues confronting us, it is critical that we learn to understand what is happening around us. Every student will one day begin to make decisions and participate in our society. Without learning how to interpret the issues going on, it would be very difficult to make informed decisions on family, careers, or even place of living. 

In this course, we are going to explore several key issues facing Americans today. As we study these issues, we will dive into the context, details, people, and key policies surrounding each issue. Furthermore, not only are we studying issues facing us, but we will be heavily relying upon technology to explore and present our findings.

By the end of this course, students will be able to not only better understand the issues facing Americans today, but will also be better acquainted with using technology.
